Pay: $160,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year

Monrovia Memorial Hospital is currently hiring for a FT, Director of Nursing Service, 12-hour shifts (days).
Experience Requirements:
- 3 years -Nursing Leadership in Acute Care.
- Acute care hospital experience minimum 3 years.
- Ability to manage numerous tasks and people at the same time is frequently required to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Time-management skills are frequently utilized to prioritize tasks that present themselves throughout the course of the day.
- Critical care experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification /Education Requirements:
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Current ACLS (AHA)
- MS Degree
Responsibilities include:
Coordination of care:
- The Director of Nursing Services assists in the coordination of the care and treatment for the adult or geriatric patients.
- The Director of Nursing Services works collaboratively with department managers to influence patient care practices in the hospital.
Documentation & Reports:
- Accurately and neatly completes written reports, projects tasks within an acceptable timeframe to include census reports, shift reports, staffing sheets, acuity reports, staffing hour’s summary, event reports,
- Assists to maintain registry files and nursing office records neatly, accurately, and completely.
Supports maintaining the standards for the clinical practice of nursing, to include:
- The delivery of nursing care model
- The critical elements of the Hospital Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care
- Implements current standards of care and practices that support clinical activities, as guided by policy and procedure.
- Ensures that the Nursing department’s procedures are maintained.
- Utilizes customer input as a mechanism for proposing nursing policy and improving care.
Serves as a professional role model to motivate the clinical staff
- Routinely demonstrates expertise in clinical practice, providing immediate support to nursing staff for IV’s, special procedures, transcription of orders, patient assessment and emergency life safety procedures.
- Ensures staff are competent to set-up, manage and operate equipment and supplies safely and correctly.
- Effectively coordinates patient care, making rounds to assess operations and problem-solve in a thorough and timely manner.
- Utilizes information from continuing education courses/programs to improve the practice of nursing and health care delivery system.
- Recommends plans for personnel development and training needs of the staff by being aware of quality assurance indicators and event report investigations that identify staff performance-training needs.
- Monitors employee compliance with documentation of a change in the patient’s condition pertinent to treatments and patient response to treatments in the patient medical record.
- Obtains medications and/or supplies and/or medical records as needed to maintain safe, efficient, and therapeutic care to the patients on a continuing basis, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assists in providing care and monitoring patient receiving procedural (moderate) sedation.
