Monrovia Memorial Hospital is looking for a PER DIEM RT / RCP to work DAY shifts!
Responsibilities Include:
Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director, the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for providing clinical respiratory and cardiopulmonary procedures for patients according to defined policies and procedures of the department and the hospital.
- Respiratory Driven Protocols
- Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based protocols (weaning protocol, assessment protocol).
- Exhibit ability to evaluate and implement respiratory protocols when indicated.
- Displays capability to manage patient population placed on respiratory driven protocols.
- Arterial Blood Gas Lab
- Performs arterial punctures and analysis consistent with departmental policy and procedure.
- Identifies arterial blood gas critical values and properly documents and notifies proper personnel.
- Displays ability to maintain and troubleshoot arterial blood gas analyzer.
- Exhibit the ability to participate in arterial blood gas calibration, proficiency, and performance verification studies.
- Emergency Situations
- Demonstrates ability to identify changes in cardiopulmonary clinical status.
- Intervenes with appropriate cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Notifies proper healthcare personnel of emergent clinical circumstances.
- Special Procedures
- Ability to assemble bronchoscopy equipment and supplies.
- Exhibits ability to prepare patient for bronchoscopy procedure.
- Demonstrates ability to assist physician with bronchoscopy procedure.
- Ensures samples are handled, labeled, and transported to clinical lab for processing.
- Documentation
- Provides necessary documentation of all cardiopulmonary services, and medications administered.
- Receives, documents, and implements telephone physician orders for respiratory services per departmental and hospital policy and procedure.
- Supplies and Equipment
- Ensures equipment and supplies are set-up and available for immediate, anticipated, and unanticipated orders/events at all times.
Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements:
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of California.
- Registered, certified or certified eligible by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital for at least three (3) months and/or six (6) months clinical studies in an accredited Respiratory school program.
****Shift Differential available for nights and weekends
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $30.50 – $36.00 per hour
